Some battery models are equipped with a metal jacket which provides this support and they can be can be identified by 'MJ' in the last 3 digits of the battery model code. These metal jacket battery models are ideal for applications where high ambient temperatures are present such as race car engine bays. The metal jacket also adds protection against rocks and other debris making them a great choice for where the battery is exposed to the elements.Odyssey batteries can be stored unconnected on an open circuit for up to 2 years without charging.
